Trek into the realms of jagged peaks and glaciers over the impressive Dachstein Massif for a more challenging hike, follow less demanding lakeside trails interspersed with charming villages, or enjoy a balance of moderate to demanding walks over mountain passes, across meadows and plateaux, down to panoramic lakeside scenery.

The terrain varies from rolling hills and easy lakeside trails to rugged, steep mountain ranges. Accommodation is in charming, comfortable inns and guesthouses, with the opportunity to stay in dormitory-style alpine lodges, or enjoy superb four star hotels on our In Style walking holiday.

The best time of year to visit Austria is from May to September. Austrian summers are reliably warm but not overpowering, and the alpine region will be slightly cooler.
