The best way to holiday in Jordan is to see it on foot and take plenty of time, especially at Petra. Our walking itinerary explores areas off the tourist trail – visit the dramatic desert region of Wadi Rum, camp out in Bedouin-style tents under the stars and trek through spectacular gorges and canyons to the ‘back door’ of Petra.
Our Jordan trek follows the hidden trails of the deserts and mountains not found on any map. The trek elevation varies from 300m to almost 1100m and walks are across stony or sandy desert trails, narrow trails through Wadis, and rocky mountainous terrain. This trip is best suited to the regular, experienced hill walker with a good level of fitness and stamina. Accommodation includes 3* hotels, an eco-lodge and a Bedouin-style tent, or you can sleep out under the stars.
The best time of year to travel to Jordan is from April to June and September to November as the days are warm and flora and fauna are abundant. Temperatures can vary considerably at any time.
