Day 1: Fly to Bari or Brindisi & transfer to Matera
Arrive at either Bari or Brindisi and transfer to the hotel in Matera.

Day 2: Explore Matera
Today we explore one of the key characteristics of the region surrounding Matera, which involve more than a hundred rock churches found scattered across the landscape.
By traversing a path through rocky terrain and Mediterranean vegetation, we have the opportunity to discover the most significant churches of the region, whilst admiring Matera from afar.

Day 3: Locorotondo & Martina Franca
Today we follow the route of the Apulian Aqueduct and enter the green heart of Puglia, stopping in delightful Locorotondo with its historic centre and views over the surrounding vineyards.
We then arrive in Martina Franca to sample the extra virgin olive oil and explore the historic buildings and churches.

Day 4: Martina Franca to Alberobello
After breakfast, we descend to Monte San Martino, in the heart of the Itria Valley. Following narrow streets, we reach Alberobello. Here we walk among the trulli (limestone dwellings) and taste the local wines produced in this fertile valley.

Day 5: Ostuni
Today we transfer to the stunning Park Dune Costiere where we stroll through the fortified Masseria farms and olive groves that characterise the landscape. We can sample the delights of the olive groves at a family-owned farm before walking to the magnificent White City of Ostuni.

Day 6: Ostuni to Coastal Dunes
We continue our exploration of the Park Dune Costiere with a delightful nature walk which follows the coastline and takes us close to the Morelli River, amidst scenery comprising dunes, ponds and Mediterranean vegetation.
Following a private transfer, we reach Lecce and enjoy a guided tour of this charming town and a chance to relax in a café, shop or explore further.

Day 7: Otranto
This morning, we reach Otranto by train. On arrival, we then stroll along the easternmost coastline of Italy, passing unspoilt bays, historic towers, landscapes of red earth and spectacular cliffs. The vista extends to the remarkable Palascia lighthouse, and on a clear day as far as the Albanian coast. We then explore Otranto, a port city rich in history, and then return to Lecce.
