We embark on a guided trek through Sri Lanka, starting at Negombo’s golden beaches and winding through the central highlands. We explore the famed Pekoe Trail, historic tea estates, and lush eucalyptus forests while learning about Sri Lanka's tea heritage. From thrilling white-water rafting in Kithulgala to the scenic train ride between Ella and Kandy, this adventure immerses us in the island's history and natural wonders. Enjoy cultural highlights, leisure time in towns, and a scenic finale in Kandy, famed for its temples and gardens.

Typical Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Fly to Sri Lanka

    Depart from London Heathrow to Colombo International Airport.

  2. Day 2: Welcome to Colombo

    Arrive in Colombo and transfer to Negombo. Time permitted, you can explore the town and its famous landmarks.

  3. Day 3: White-water Rafting Adventure

    Today starts at Negombo’s lively Lellama Fish Market, before enjoying an exciting white-water rafting adventure in Kithulgala and continuing on to Hatton for the night.

  4. Day 4: Trek from Deltota to Thawalamthenna

    Today’s trek covers Stages 2 and 3 of the Pekoe Trail, from Deltota through Sri Lanka’s historic Loolkandura Estate to Thawalamthenna, passing tea fields, rainforests, scenic views, and Ramboda’s waterfalls before an evening transfer to Kotagala.

  5. Day 5: Trek from Dayagama to Nuwara Eliya

    Take on a 15.1-kilometre trek along Stage 10 of the Pekoe Trail, exploring Sri Lanka's scenic tea trails and lush rainforests near Dayagama, Nuwara Eliya.

  6. Day 6: Day of Leisure

    For an extra fee, you can opt to visit the second-largest garden in Sri Lanka or participate in a cultural and culinary experience. Alternatively, relax in your hotel or explore the surroundings – on your own or with free of charge activities.

  7. Day 7: Trek from Nuwara Eliya to Ohiya

    Start the day with an early trek through Horton Plains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with rolling hills, forests, and stops at Baker’s Falls and World’s End, before continuing to Ohiya for the night.

  8. Day 8: Trek from Udaweriya to Haputale

    After breakfast, begin Stage 12 of the Pekoe Trail from Udaweriya to Haputale, a 15-km trek through valleys, forests, and tea estates, passing Idalgashinna Station, Thangamale Sanctuary, and ending at Haputale Station.

  9. Day 9: Trek from Makulella to Ella

    Today starts at Makulella’s Allimale Bodhiya Temple, trekking Stage 15 of the Pekoe Trail down to Ella, passing Ambagaswatte Valley, Ravana Falls, Ella Rock, Nine Arch Bridge, and Ella Gap.

    Walking distance: 10 km

  10. Day 10: Scenic train ride from Ella to Kandy

    Take a scenic morning train journey from Ella to Kandy, winding through tea plantations and misty mountains. In the evening, explore Kandy’s attractions on your own or rest in your hotel.

  11. Day 11: Day Of Leisure in Kandy & afternoon transfer to Colombo

    Today you have time to visit local monuments and the famous botanical gardens independently. In the evening, we transfer to Colombo for the last night.

  12. Day 12: Departure day

    After breakfast, we transfer to Colombo International Airport for our departure flight.
