Start in Stockholm before venturing into Tyresta National Park’s ancient woodlands, Huvudskär’s or Fjärdlång’s dramatic coastlines, Utö’s vibrant village, and Ornö’s tranquil landscapes. Conclude in the vibrant city of Stockholm.

Typical Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Stockholm
Upon arriving in Stockholm, proceed to your hotel. Depending on when you arrive, you may choose to spend the remainder of the day discovering the city.

Day 2: Trek in Tyresta National Park
In the morning, a transfer takes you to Tyresta National Park. Once in the park, your hike leads through the pine and birch forest where you have a chance of seeing wild deer who roam freely. Through the hike, you pass several lakes, where you can relax on the lakeshore or have a refreshing swim. The end of the trail leads you to Dalarö where the archipelago can be seen.

Day 3: Island-hopping Huvudskär & Kymmendö
In the morning, take the bus back to Dalarö and enjoy its colourful streets before the day's island hopping commences. Take a scenic boat trip to the island of Huvudskär or Fjärdlång, depending on the island you visit, either follow a trail across untouched landscapes by the coast or to the highest point of the Stockholm Archipelago. After exploring, continue by boat to Kymmendö where you have time to wander around. The final boat ride of the day takes you to Utö.

Day 4: Cycle & Hike Islands of Utö & Ålö
Spend your day exploring the lively and scenic Utö Island. With bikes provided, cycle across the island to the nearby Ålö island, where the hike begins. Follow rugged coastline and enjoy uninterrupted sea views and stunning vantage points along the way. After your hike, return to Utö’s by bike. If you prefer not to cycle, taxis can be arranged locally. The total cycling distance for today is 22 kilometres.

Day 5: Trails of Ornö Island
Begin your day with a boat trip to the largest island of the southern archipelago, Ornö. Follow the island's western shore, as the trail winds through nature reserves, forests and open land offering coastal views. Upon reaching the Telegrafberget tower, you can either continue back to Ornö Kyrka by foot or bus.
If time allows, learn the history of the island along the Levassastigen heritage trail. The day ends with a boat trip back to Utö.

Day 6: Utö Village & Nature Reserve
In the morning, explore Utö village, from its 1791 windmill to learning about the mining history at the museum. Later in the morning, head to the Utö's nature reserve, where you can explore coastal trails which vary in length. The routes lead past sandy beaches, perfect for relaxing or a swim. Sea kayaking excursions can be booked locally (subject to availability).
After enjoying the village and nature reserve, take a boat to Stockholm.

Day 7: Depart Stockholm
Today marks the end of your holiday in the Stockholm Archipelago. Make your own way to the airport or your onward destination.
If you wish to have more time in Stockholm, please speak to your travel consultant regarding adding additional nights.
