Walking from mountains to coast, this wonderful 8 day tour takes you through some of Croatia’s best national parks. Discover the country's enchanting landscapes filled with lakes, caves and facinating geology.
During this itinerary you will walk from the mountains to the coast, taking in some of the most mystical and intriguing landscapes Croatia has to offer.
This easy to moderate tour will be mainly on well-marked paths, walking approximately three to six hours per day. Enjoy the diversity of Croatia’s national parks, including Velebit National Park, Plitvice National Park, Paklenica National Park and Krka National Park.
You will discover beautiful waterfalls, plunging gorges, caves and a variety of flora, fauna and wildlife. Don’t forget to bring your camera; you will have ample chance to snap memories of this incredible country.
Arrive at Zagreb International Airport and transfer to your hotel.
Today you will hike to the highest peak of the Medvednica mountains. Located in central Croatia, just a short distance from Zagreb, Sljeme Peak offers wonderful views of the mountains and Zagreb alike.
Walking distance: 8 km
Today you will visit Plitvice National Park, arguably the most stunning national park in Croatia. A panoramic boat ride and train will take you back to the start of the walk where you will be met and transferred to your overnight in Plitvice.
Walking distance: 12 km | Ascent: 150 m | Descent: 100 m
After breakfast you will drive to Zavizan where today's walk begins. Connected by 57 kilometres of paths, the Zavizan to Baske Ostarije hiking trail is names after its designer, Ante Premuzic. You will finish the day with a transfer to Paklenica National Park where you will stay the night.
Walking distance: 18 km
Paklenica National Park covers a large area including Velika and Mala canyon. The areas offer exceptional diversity of geomorphologic phenomena and forms, plus a large variety of flora and fauna, descending all the way to the sea.
Walking distance: 15 km | Ascent: 500 m | Descent: 500 m
This morning you will be transferred to Krka National Park for today's walk. You will also have the option to visit Skradinski Buk waterfall which holds the second hydro plant to have been built after Niagara Falls. This afternoon you will enjoy a boat trip to Visovac Island and visit its Franciscan monastery.
Walking distance: 10 km | Ascent: 200 m | Descent: 130 m
Today's walk will be on Mount Mosor in the Mosor Mountain Range, which is part of the Dinaric Alps and is located near the city of Split.
Walking distance: 9 km | Ascent: 900 m | Descent: 900 m
After a final morning in Croatia, you will be transferred to Split in time for your return flight back to the UK.
