Begin in Split, where vibrant streets lead to serene Marjan Park, then hike through Brač’s stunning beaches and historical monasteries. Enjoy Hvar’s coastal trails and picturesque Dubovica Bay, and explore the medieval charm of Korčula before tackling the rewarding climb to Sveti Ilija Mountain. Conclude your journey in Dubrovnik, strolling through cobbled streets and relaxing by tranquil bays along the way.

This is an unforgettable walking adventure through southern Croatia; island hop and meander along scenic trails that reveal the country’s natural beauty and rich history. Stroll through charming stone towns, relax on pristine beaches, and explore the stunning landscapes of Brač, Hvar, Korčula, Mljet, and the Pelješac Peninsula, ending in the iconic Dubrovnik, pearl of the Adriatic, an iconic walled coastal city with a stunning old town. With a rich culture and fascinating history, the narrow streets of the old town are great for exploring. Discover hidden gems, ancient villages, and tranquil bays, with plenty of opportunities to swim, savour local cuisine, and experience the essence of the Dalmatian coast on foot.

Typical Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Travel to Split

    Fly to Split and make your way to your hotel. If time permits, you can complete an optional walk through Marjan Nature Park.

    Walking distance: 8 km | Ascent: 155 metres | Descent: 150 metres

  2. Day 2: Selection of two walks: circular from Bol Town to Vidova Gora or Pustinja Blaca Monastery

    You can choose between two walks on well-maintained trails, offering stunning coastal views and glimpses of the Adriatic. The ascent to Vidova Gora, Brač’s highest peak, rewards you with panoramic vistas, followed by a scenic descent through shaded forests back to Bol.

    Walking distance: 13 km | Ascent: 760 metres | Descent:  760 metres

    You can opt for a longer trek to The Pustinja Blaca Monastery, nestled in a dramatic valley, before you head back to the starting point.

    Walking distance: 19 km | Ascent: 335 metres | Descent: 335 metres

  3. Day 3: Hvar Town to Dubovica Bay

    You begin from Hvar Town, winding through olive groves and vineyards with views of the Adriatic. The trail leads to the serene Dubovica Bay, where you can relax by crystal-clear waters before being transferred back to your hotel.

    Walking distance: 12 km | Ascent: 260 metres | Descent: 245 metres

    This hike can be extended if you wish to choose a longer route.

    Walking distance: 20 km | Ascent: 610 metres | Descent: 600 metres

  4. Day 4: Korčula town to Lumbarda island

    The walk from Korčula to Lumbarda takes you along beautiful coastal paths, offering stunning views of the Adriatic. After exploring Lumbarda’s serene beaches, you retrace your steps on foot, enjoying the same breathtaking vistas on the return journey.

    Walking distance: 17 km | Ascent: 180 metres |​​​​​​​ Descent: 170 metres

  5. Day 5: Pelješac Peninsula to Sveti Ilija

    The hike from Orebić to Mount Sveti Ilija is a challenging ascent through Mediterranean vegetation, offering stunning views of the Adriatic and nearby islands. After reaching the summit, enjoy panoramic vistas before descending along a circular route, taking in new perspectives of the landscape.

    Walking distance: 16 km | Ascent: 970 metres | Descent: 970 metres

  6. Day 6: Pomena to Malo Jezero

    This walk in the central section of Mljet National Park begins in the peaceful village of Pomena, following the coastline through pine forests and small coves up to a lake. With a gentle ascent and descent, the trail offers stunning views of turquoise waters and lush greenery, returning to Pomena for a relaxing day by the beach.

    Walking distance: 8 km | Ascent: 135 metres | Descent: 130 metres

    Alternatively, you can complete a longer distance by completing a section of the north-west part of the park.

    Walking distance: 13 km | Ascent: 340 metres | Descent: 340 metres

  7. Day 7: Selection of two walks: circular Lokrum Island or Lapad Coast & Dubrovnik Town

    You can choose between two walks. A short ferry ride from Dubrovnik takes you to Lokrum Island, a peaceful haven of lush forests, botanical gardens, and stunning views. The trail offers a moderate ascent, passing historical landmarks like a Benedictine monastery and Lake Mir, before descending back for a relaxing return to Dubrovnik.

    Walking distance: 7 km | Ascent: 135 metres | Descent: 130 metres

    The second option is a scenic walk that begins at Lapad Bay, offering stunning coastal views and peaceful promenades, before leading you to the historic heart of Old Dubrovnik. 

    Walking distance: 10 km |​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Ascent: 255 metres |​​​​​​​ Descent: 265 metres

  8. Day 8: Fly back to the UK

    Today, your holiday sadly comes to an end. Make your own way to the airport or your onward destination.
