On this small group guided holiday, enjoy a wide range of walks; explore the lost city of El Mirador and the Tikal ruins, hike to the Acatenango & Fuego volcanoes, visit rural villages, and discover the cultural cities of Antigua and Flores.
This walking adventure provides an opportunity to explore an interior region of Guatamala, where we experience the cultural diversity, impressive landscapes and rich history of this fascinating country. This region is known for its impressive volcanoes, rivers and lakes, set against a backdrop of tropical jungle. We hike on volcano paths and jungle trails, uncovering mystical ruins and well preserved colonial architecture, whilst enjoying the warm hospitality of the locals.
Upon arrival, we transfer to our city hotel in the colonial city of Antigua.
We take the full day to enjoy one of Guatamala’s most enchanting lakes, Lake Atitlan. Activities include a boat tour, kayaking, and hiking around the lake shore, discovering traditional Mayan villages along the way.

Today we have an opportunity to enjoy the delights of the former capital of Guatemala, Antigua. This city boasts old colonial charm, showcasing its World Heritage status and its unique location in the shadow of three volcanoes.

After a transfer to the trailhead, we commence an overnight hike to Acatenango Basecamp, which is a demanding trek due to altitude and the nature of the terrain. The spectacle of the impressive Volcán de Fuego makes it all worthwhile.

Today we rise very early for breakfast before our morning sunrise climb to an elevation of 3,976 metres, to observe Volcán de Fuego in the darkness. We descend before midday.

Following a short flight from Guatemala City, we transfer to our hotel in Flores. After settling in, we head out on a guided walking tour.

This morning we enjoy an early sunrise walking tour of an iconic Mayan city, situated in the heart of the jungle.
On our return to Flores, we have the afternoon to relax by the lake, or explore the town.

Today we start the 5-day jungle expedition to El Mirador, which includes a transfer to Carmelita and a trek to Camp El Nacimiento.

From our campsite we continue to trek further into the Maya Biosphere Reserve, heading towards the El Mirador campsite.

We spend a full day exploring the archaeological site of El Mirador and La Danta pyramid.

Today we commence the return trek, retracing our steps through the jungle towards Camp El Nacimiento.

Today is the final trek to Camelita, followed by a return transfer to Flores.
After arriving in Flores, the rest of the afternoon is free to enjoy at your leisure.

After breakfast, we depart our hotel in Flores for our return flight to Guatemala City, and onward travel.
