This walking week provides an opportunity to explore a region of the Bosnian interior which is often missed by seasoned walkers. This region is known for its medieval villages, rivers and lakes, set against the backdrop of the Dinarica Alps.
We traverse picturesque mountain paths, uncovering charming villages and agricultural communities, whilst enjoying the warm hospitality of the locals. Throughout the journey, we stay in various accommodations, primarily family-run guesthouses or hotels.
Typical Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Sarajevo
From the airport we're transferred to our city hotel. Depending on your arrival, the afternoon is free to explore your surroundings alone or alongside your guide.

Day 2: Cable-car to Trebevic Mountain
Today we take the cable-car to the mountain plateau above Sarajevo, before a walk to the summit of Mount Trebević, where we enjoy stunning views of the city below.
In the afternoon, enjoy an organised Sarajevo city tour.

Day 3: Transfer to Tusila, followed by a hike to Vito peak
After breakfast, depart from Sarajevo to Tusila village. and the start of the Via Dinarica long-distance trail.
We walk the Via Dinarica White Trail section, an area comprising beautiful local karst stone formations. We climb to the summit of Vito (1,960 m) through open meadows and beech forests, followed by a delightful descent to Umoljani village.

Day 4: Lukomir highland village circular hike
Starting with a walk in Bjelasnica (home of the 1984 Winter Olympics) we visit Lukomir, the country’s highest village at 1,469 metres.
We then hike to the Cascades of Studeni Potok, where the stream falls 400 metres to the canyon below, and we enjoy the vistas of the valley known as Studeni Fields.

Day 5: Transfer to Mostar
After transferring to Mostar, we have the opportunity to explore this delightful 15th century medieval town that's steeped in history; the town still bears the scars of its troubled but intriguing past, but now has a charm all of its own.

Day 6: Transfer to the Sujeska National Park
After transferring to Sutjeska National Park, today's walk provides superb views as we hike to Lebrsnik summit (1,859 m) and enjoy the dramatic landscape, including the impressive Volujak rockface wall.

Day 7: Full day's walking in the Sutjeska National Park
From the Dragoš Saddle to the Skakavac waterfall, today's walk continues to Prijevor, deep into the park's interior where Bosnia’s highest peaks of Maglik & Zelengora dominate the skyline.
We then descend to Lake Trnovacko at a height of 1,500 m, before heading back to Sarajevo for our final evening in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
