As you walk, keep a look-out for gjakmarrjas, or ‘blood feud towers’, previous safe-havens for men that had become involved in a blood feud.
- 5. It’s close to home. Tirana, Albania’s capital city, is only a 3 hour flight away from London, making it perfect for a short summer escape. With flights departing across the UK it provides an excellent alternative to more travelled, western, European locations.
