This vast South American country, second in size only to Brazil, offers visitors some magnificent scenery. Dark green sub-Antarctic forests, immense turquoise lakes and thousands of miles of dramatic glaciers. The mighty Andes form a perfect backdrop to deep blue glacier-fed lakes. In the north-west, is the highest point in South America - the peak of Aconcagua. To the north-east are the mighty Iguazu Falls, to the west there is a wonderful Lake District. In the south west is the magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the worlds few stable glaciers, where gigantic icebergs fall into the waters below.
