Ascend world famous Vesuvius for a stunning panoramic view over the Bay of Naples, and then travel by boat to Capri for an island walk and fantastic views back to Vesuvius.

A visit to the ruins of Pompeii is a must before travelling to the striking Amalfi Peninsula. Here, from the delightful town of Agerola, you’ll enjoy four days exploring the fascinating coastline with its rugged sea cliffs and picturesque villages, including a hike on the ‘Path of the Gods’ to the colourful town of Positano.

Walking through fragrant landscapes where natural beauty has inspired many artists and poets is an experience to savour.

Typical Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Fly to Naples

    Fly from the UK to Naples.

  2. Day 2: Take ‘Circumvesuviana’ to Ercolano & ascend Vesuvius

    Take the ’Circumvesuviana’, a narrow gauge railway that runs around the base of Vesuvius, to Ercolano and summit Vesuvius.

  3. Day 3: Ferry to Capri for a day of island hiking & exploring

    Taking the ferry over to the Island of Capri brings you to the port of Marina Grande, where you will commence today’s walk and hike up to the 16th Century Hermitage of Santa Maria a Cetrella.

  4. Day 4: Visit Pompeii, then private transfer to Agerola

    In the morning you take the ‘Circumvesuviana’ from Naples again to bring you to the famous archaeological ruins of Pompeii.

  5. Day 5: Walk to the Canyon of Furore

    Heading out of Agerola, today is all descent as you follow a trail that will allow you to explore tiny chapels and hidden caves along the way.

  6. Day 6: Walk to Valle dei Mulini & Ravello; return to Agerola

    Your exploration of the delightful Amalfi coastal region starts with a walk along the path still used by mules to carry wood to the villages in this area, where you will discover the ’Valle dei Mulini’. The trail then continues to the charming small town of Ravello from Scala.

  7. Day 7: Hike the ‘Path of the Gods’

    Your final day’s walk is following what is the most famous walk in the entire Amalfi region, ‘The Path of the Gods’. This wonderful, panoramic hike hugs and contours the coastline from above.

  8. Day 8: Transfer to Naples & fly back to the UK

    Transfer to Naples airport for your flight back to the UK.
