Slovenian Escapades
8 days, Guided Group, Fixed Departures - Saturday, 16 August 2008 & 13 September 2008.
Slovenia is still off the beaten track as far as mass tourism is concerned and your days here will be spent far away from the crowds, enjoying the stunning mountain panoramas and emerald rivers this gem of a country has to offer.
This guided trip takes you deep into the heart of the glorious Julian Alps. From the Bohinj basin you will trek up through vast woods and alpine meadows to high peaks in the Triglav National Park. A night on the Komna Plateau allows you to cross a high col into the next valley and descend to the exciting summer resort of Bovec, on the banks of the emerald Soca River. Here the milder climate provides the perfect base for a variety of multi activities amongst stunning scenery. This delightful country has a wealth of sheer solitude to be found amongst the hills, the forests, the mountains and valleys and is full to bursting with natural attractions yet devoid of crowds of tourists... so far.
