- Day 1. Outbound
- Your daytime flight from the UK arrives mid-afternoon. Collect your hire car and drive to your downtown Montreal hotel, a century old manor house in the heart of the city's thriving bistro and boutique quarter.
- Day 2. Quebec City
- Head east to the beautiful city of Quebec. Designated as a UNESCO heritage site, it is the only fortified city in North America. From your 18th century bijoux hotel you can explore the narrow, cobbled streets, terraced restaurants, hidden boutiques and watch wonderful street entertainment which all combine to create a charming atmosphere.
- Days 3 and 4. Grands Jardins Park
- The landscape and scenery of this region will surely astonish you! Hike at Sentiers des Caps de Charlevoix for incredible views overlooking the Saint Lawrence River. You may actually observe more than 20,000 geese during the migration! Drive to Baie Saint Paul, a quiet village full of welcoming restaurants and art galleries. The artists of the region are inspired by the clarity of light and beauty of their surroundings. The magnificent Grands Jardins Park shows the real backcountry of Charlevoix. Ascend Mont du Lac des Cygnes from where you can overlook the entire region. Your cosy country auberge is full of charm and simplicity and offers gourmet dining and a great wine cellar!
- Days 5 and 6. Saguenay Fjord
- Head north through Quebec's wilderness to the Lac Saint Jean Region where the Saguenay fjord opens into a wonderful picture of dramatic landscapes and pure beauty. People in this region are known for their great charm and hospitality. Relax in the magical surroundings of your traditional Quebecois wooden chalets, deep in the heart of the forest, overlooking the marine park. Discover the remoteness on the Fantom valley hike, visit the St Fulgence bird sanctuary, experience sea-kayaking or try your hand at trout fishing.
- Days 7 and 8. Tadoussac
- Head south along the fjord towards Tadoussac looking out for Beluga whales. Tadoussac was the first fur trading post in North America but the highlight nowadays are the whales. Visit the whale interpretive centre and take an unforgettable boat trip to witness these magnificent creatures at close quarters. Your hotel here has been a landmark for generations, with its beacon-like silhouette, white-washed walls, cupola and proximity to the sandy beach. The best spot from which to experience this superb natural setting.
- Days 9 and 10. Homeward
- Return to Montreal via Quebec for some last-minute bargain hunting before catching your overnight flight home.
