New South Wales

Just two hours drive west of Sydney are the Blue Mountains famed for the 3 Sisters rock formation, and with its beauty and botanical significance the area has recently been recognised with a World Heritage listing. You can walk here all year around and we offer self-guided and guided walks of up to a week in length.

Half-way between Sydney and Melbourne are the Snowy Mountains, aptly named the 'Roof of Australia' with snow in the Australian winter months. Chairlifts assist the walking here to the Australia's highest mountain Mt Kosciuszko (2228 meters). Our self-guided walks here run from December to Easter.

One hour north of Sydney is the Hawkesbury Trail, which follows the river of that name. The self-guided six-day walk takes you from lush forests, past sleepy communities eventually reaching the sea with breathtaking beaches and dramatic cliffs. Available March through to the end of November.

Walk from Sydney to the Hawkesbury River on the Great North Walk. This is a six day self-guided walk passes through some of the region's most outstanding natural scenery, commencing with a ride on one of Sydney's quaint harbour ferries. Available March through to end November.

New for 2009 is our five or seven day guided walk through and around Sydney's Bushtracks, Bays and Beaches. Taking in the magnificent harbour, hike along the high sea cliffs and through tranquil forests - a prefect way to discover what is described by many as the 'world's most liveable city'. Available daily April to November.

Starting in Canberra we offer an eight-day guided Lighthouses Trek on the 9th October 2009, walking along the spectacular coastline on sandy beaches and cliff top tracks, and staying in remote Lighthouses.

The last guided seven-day walking holiday in this area is on Lord Howe Island in the South Pacific Ocean, just a two-hour flight from Sydney. The island is blessed with swaying palm trees, breathtaking coastal scenery and a crystal clear lagoon fringed by the most southerly coral reef in the world. It's perpetual spring like temperatures make it a paradise for birds and unique plants. Centre based departure on 5th September 2009.
