Mount Kenya Ascent - Introductory Offer!

New for 2008

The ascent of Mount Kenya (often combined with Kilimanjaro) is arguably the finest walking trip in Africa especially as our itinerary is not a technical climb. The mountain is comparatively little visited although it is the second highest peak in Africa. Mt. Kenya consists of three peaks: Batian (5,199 m), Nelion (5,188 m) and Lenana (4,985 m). We climb Point Lenana on a circumnavigation route, ascending steadily through forest and moorland to join the glacial Mackinder Valley. This route approaches Point Lenana from the north, a little-used route giving spectacular views of the eroded volcanic cone, jagged peaks and serrated ridges. It is both an exhilarating climb and an opportunity to explore the really beautiful wilderness areas of forest and moorland, home to a wide variety of flora and wildlife. This 9-day trip also allows for time in Nairobi afterwards. Safari and Indian Ocean Extensions available. Or combine it with our superb Rongai or Shira routes up Kilimanjaro for double peak success?

Walks Worldwide are committed to offering a safe, enjoyable and educational walking experience. Walking holidays in Africa need careful research. But, although our trips cater for walking enthusiasts, they are more than just a holiday... we want our guests to return from their journey with a valuable insight and appreciation of the culture and customs of the country that has hosted them. It is YOUR holiday. Having worked hard all year everyone deserves a good holiday thus we work hard all year to make that happen! Being a new destination for us our Kenyan programme is not advertised in our main brochure but with mountain climbs, walking safaris and the Indian Ocean beckoning there is unlimited potential for tailor-made itineraries. So why not call us to discuss your next walking trip and see if we can fulfill a few dreams.
