13 days | From £1,135 | Private Guided Departures for 2 or more people travelling together.
- Magnificent Himalayan views
- Atmospheric Kyanjin Gompa
- All trek meals included and no camping
Although closer to Kathmandu than the busier trails of the Everest and Annapurna regions, the delightful Langtang Himal remains very much an unspoiled region of enchanting Nepal. Whilst trekking in Langtang, the Tibetan influence is clearly visible as you pass authentic small settlements along the way with their guarding Mani walls and colourful, fluttering prayer flags.
The trek crosses open Yak pasture and mountain sides to reach the last habitation in the valley and the atmospheric Kyangjin Gompa surrounded by giant Himalayan peaks, with an almost unbelievable river of ice 'flowing' from Langtang Lirung. This is too fantastic a place to leave in a hurry, so an extra day will be spent in this cathedral of the mountain gods to allow further exploration before ultimately returning to exotic Kathmandu.
