Travelling to the Niolu valley in the heart of the island, you will be encircled by the island's highest mountains, including the Paglia Orba and Monte Cinto, which dominate the skyline. Ancient shepherd's trails will lead you through fragrant pine forests, alongside tumbling mountain torrents and past inviting sun-baked rock pools, through chestnut forests and gorges.

Staying in the best accommodations in the remote pink and whitewashed villages draped in bright bougainvillea surrounded by citrus and olive trees, you will enjoy comfortable hotels with views and character. Views towards the Gulf of Porto are a kaleidoscope of colour, red cliffs, shock blue sea and the town's iconic Genoese tower. At Porto you have time to either swim or snorkel from the sandy beach or take a boat trip to Scandola Nature Reserve.

Your walk to Piana, along the dramatic pink rocked coastline, dotted with maritime pines and endless views over the blue Mediterranean sea is a fitting end to a beautiful walk on a fantastic rugged island.
