Kingdom of the Gaddi
13 days - Exclusive seasonal daily departures for a minimum of 2 people.
- The rarely trekked lands of nomad shepherds
- Incredible Himalayan views from the Minkiani Pass
- McLeod Ganj: home of the exiled Dalai Lama
This very special adventure takes you into the heart of one of India's best-kept Himalayan secrets. Perfect for the discerning trekker seeking a genuine Himalayan experience. The unspoiled, breathtaking landscapes combined with the traditional lifestyles of the "Gadderan" in the ancient Kingdom of the Gaddi provide just that.
Commencing along quiet trails from McLeod Ganj between timeless villages and then heading ever higher and deeper into the Himalayas towards the remote "jots" or pastures of the Gaddi shepherds. The trek reaches it's zenith at the top of the Minkiani Pass but efforts are duly rewarded with spectacular views into the Central Himalaya and distant Karakoram.
