Footloose in the Lusetian Mountains

8 days, self-guided, 2 people or more, exclusive seasonal daily departures

  • Europe off the beaten track
  • Ancient forests
  • Traditional Bohemian villages

For many the Czech Republic is an unknown quantity outside of Prague. Yet within a short distance from the capital you're transported to seldom visited rural areas of outstanding natural beauty, ideal for walking and experiencing the country without the crowds.

The Lusetian Mountains lie in North Bohemia, an area state protected since 1976. It is a region much loved by local artists, where the hills are easily climbed, affording far-reaching views into neighbouring Germany and Poland. Here you will walk through forests of ancient trees, areas of rare botanical species, past bizarre sandstone formations carved over the centuries and visit small towns and villages containing preserved architecture, baroque churches and medieval castles. An ideal walking trip exploring somewhere refreshingly different and enjoy life at a slower pace.

Historic Prague extension. We would be delighted to arrange a 2 night extension for you to visit historic Prague at the end of this holiday including a guided tour, boat trip and return airport transfer.
